what all you guys here not into romantic comedies? ...guess its only me then All time favourite has to be... hmmm Ah my goddess OVA. Hehe.. someone already mentioned Ah! My Goddess in page 1... and someone mentioned Love Hina... You're not alone, lad~ but I'm not a huge fan of Romantic Comedy...although still enjoys it Last time I read mangas about this kinda genre are....Mahoraba and Chokoto Sister... Read it cause there's no other new mangas to read xP I want more deep story... Happy!, Monster, and 20th Century Boys...Death Note, MPD Psycho or action packed like One Piece, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic! (not Fumofu one~) and Naruto

ahhh FMP fumoffu that was great. i think the little side stories are actually better than the main story line ... i have yet to watch 2nd raid though. only 1-2 rpmantic comedies out of how many? i think my ratio is about 75% of the anime i watch are RC... i feel sad so very sad.

FMP main story is Brilliant... I as a sceptic for a mecha anime actually enjoy this one....
for deep story i adore naoki urasawa Works.... 'Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto' althought have anyone read or watch 'Planetes'? The level of detail and realism is just..... believable
For parody works i must say School Rumble at the moment is on the top. I suffocate myself laughing for some parts of it.
All time fav i say FLCL... Looking forward for Gunbuster 2 (or 'Aim for the top 2') it's like FLCL subtract the constant guitar ringing to your ear which makes FLCL a legend (IMO)
And yes... i do sometimes watch the all time curse of never-ending-300-eps-or-more-shounen-anime like naruto... or onepiece or Bleach or Detective Conan (anyone ever heard of this?)

I'm a bit surprised nobody even mentioned Berserk. Its fairly dark, but one of my top picks.
Grave of the Fireflies is just excellent! Still not much to laugh though.
As for fantasy comedies I laughed my ass off watching Gokudou-kun Manyuuki and Dragon Half. The latter was abandoned with just 2 episodes done, but its definitely hilarious.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Gun Smith Cats! It's so cool, and the story's good. And Riding Bean was cool too, though I preferred Bean in the GSC storyline. Detective Conan (anyone ever heard of this?) Sure It's aired on rtl2, I've almost seen an episode (though couldn't understand more than some basic words... german is not my language of choice...) As for fantasy comedies I laughed my ass off watching Gokudou-kun Manyuuki and Dragon Half. The latter was abandoned with just 2 episodes done, but its definitely hilarious. Dragon Half! The Holy Grail of Animes! (And I mean the Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail kinda Holy Grail.) Actually, the manga continues (as I heard... couldn't put my hands on it yet), I guess the staff died of laughing after the second episode. It's deadlier than the Deadly Joke in MPFC #1...

Anime! I'm so happy I've nothing better to do than looking around the forum, because I stumbled over this thread. Well, I won't list all the anime I've ever seen, it would take too long even to collect all of them. I'll list my faves instead... - Berserk (not for the faint of heart, but an old fave)
- .hack//SIGN
- Wolf's Rain (the ending was horrible, tho')
- Yu Yu Hakusho (old, yes, but good)
- Pet Shop of Horrors (only 4 episodes long, but I love it)
- Full Metal Panic (if you need a good laugh)
- Kyou Kara Maou (hilarious, be afraid of gay jokes)
- Bleach (ongoing, full of Shinigami, big breasted women and good looking guys - I just love Zaraki Kenpachi)
- Cowboy Bebop (moody, art is not to my taste, but it really has something)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (I think it's a must... old, strange, depressive, but a must)
Sooooo.... Comments? Oh, and by the way, I'm not really interested in big swords, muscles or bloodlettings. In fact, anime that have little, idiotic children, funny pets (as in unreal and idiotic), only ugly men and a high quota of big-breasted women won't be watched by me - so don't even try to suggest them. Oh, by the way, - Yami no Matsuei is a pile of poo, it could have been so much better, but no, they ruin a perfectly good storyline.
- Fushigi Yuugi is all about the famous quote:
Miaka: Tamahome... Tamahome: Miaka... Miaka: Tamahome... Tamahome: Miaka... You get the picture. Can you say ewwww?
- Gravitation is ruined by the intended-stress-relief-utter-annoyance.

yes the storyline in yami was good..... just less of the stuff that makes you cringe or makes you stop for a second to process what the heck just happened (brass enjoy ep 8 ). I can watch through anything... even FLCL (im sure i finished it ... just cant remeber what happened in it maybe i blocked it out) that thing did not make sense nor do i think it ius brilliantly done despite the other 100% of the population thinking its great brilliant and overall a must watch piece of sh.... work. Oh stay away from infinius ryvius after watching 15 episodes all i wanted to do was punch the main character in the face and skip to the last episode to get it over and done with... too bad i stopped at 15. oh and there are some people trying to pressure me to watch things like La BLue Girl but that kind of stuff should be left to the imagination ^^

I watched that. La Blue Girl, I mean. Well... not my cup of tea, let me tell you. And it's more of a funny piece than a... well, sexual one. (Thanks the powers that be.) As for why I bought it... Well, my friends (males) persuaded me to watch it. I won't say it was the anime of my life, quite far from it.

Earth Girl Arujuna. It's... well, it's a greenpeace activist anime, but it's still good. Makes you think about things. Makes you get frightened about things. And it's true in some ways. Too true, I have to add. About Cowboy Bebop: the main strength of that anime is Style, with capital S. Each character has their own personality, their own Style and Way Of Doing Things. Some episode's main conflict is caused by having 4 almost totally different people sharing penyliessness on the same ship. The same atmosphere is reflected in the two episodes of Animatrix, Detective Story and Kid's Story. They were both directed by Watanabe (yep, he directed Cowboy Bebop). Actually, Detective Story is my favourite one-shot anime. Maybe just because I love film noir Maybe because that guy has Style. I also liked Visions of Escaflowne. The movie was... well, like a teaser, but the series was good. Not the series I'll watch over and over again, but I'm glad I watched through. Love Hina... well, the manga was a romantic story, with some skit episodes, but compared to the anime (which was 80% fan service) it was more solid. Still, some characters (like, Shinobu-chan) were more detailed in the anime. The manga is mainly focusing on the relationship of Naru, Mutsumi and Keitaro. For the light comedy side, there's Azumanga Daioh. Yeah, it has some fan service factor (like, a 25-30%), but it's rather a stand-up comedy, with losely related episodes, situational humour and nonsensism. Hikaru no Go is... well, hard to tell. It's about a guy, Hikaru, who meets Sai, the ghost of the Emperor's Go Trainer from the feudalistic Japan. First he helps Sai to play Go with others (since Hikaru is the only one who can see and hear Sai, and Sai has no other ways to interact with the world - he can see and walk, and hear, but can't lift things or such...), then, as he sees others enthusiasm towards the game, he decides to be a professional Go player, and tries to do everything to achieve his goal. It sounds really dry and boring, but I think this is one of the best series I've met. True, it's not the usual eye-candy for the casual watcher. There's a bunch of series I begun to watch, but never finished for different reasons. Like, Lupin III - I just can't find the missing episodes. Not that they are closely related to each other. Erm... I should go back to work. *bored*
