- General tips:
- If you take enchantments, the doppelganger will cast them, buying you time. If you take enchantments with upkeep, the doppelganger will have less energy regen - though obviously it will cast them only once then.
- It will never use Healing Breeze as a healing spell, only to counter health degen effects - if you don't use any, you can safely bring Breeze...
- A Vigor rune can come handy, especially major or superior, but no other major or superior runes, if possible (except for Warrior Absorption runes) - you will need health.

- Mesmer: Empathy and Distortion. With Illusion 8 and Domination at least 8 it should not be a problem, though timing Empathy might be tricky. Don't attack! (Edna also equipped Life Attunement for the Doppelganger to use...) Video here - note the low level...
- Elementalist: Take all four of the Attunements (two might be enought though); Flare, Fire Storm and Meteor Shower. Only Meteor Shower can't be gained as a quest reward, but it's always a good spell to have. Max out Fire Magic, and put the rest into Energy Storage. Don't bother with casting the attunements, they are only for buying you time. Cast Fire Storm, wait until the Doppelganger starts to run out of it, then cast Meteor Storm, and spam it with Flare. If you do it right, you can kill it in about 10-12 seconds.
- Necromancer: Price of Failure, Enfeeblement, Insidious Parasite. Max out Curses - no need for Soul Reaping though. Don't attack, just keep all hexes on the Doppelganger, it will kill itself over time, while healing you with each attack.
- Warrior: everyone says that if you only use sword skills, he can't use them with his axe - it's not true, he can use them. However, swords are better here, because of the smaller damage scatter. An ascalon boots of major absorption will come handy, as well as a high Strength attribute. (The other armor pieces should not be Ascalon though...) Take Frenzy, but don't use it; use high damage attacks while he's using Frenzy. Don't equip any healing skills, nor Endure Pain.
